DRESDA HONDA

The Dresda Honda CB750 led the European endurance racing pack in the  1970s, with Dave Degens commissioned by Japauto in France at the forefront of its transformation into a race winner.  Dresda was already renowned for its lightweight, competition-proven frames, and Japauto commissioned Dresda CB750-based endurance specials that transformed the handling of the big Honda four. The Dresda-Japauto bikes rose to international prominence with their Bol d’Or triumphs, winning in 1972 with Christian Léon and Gérard Debrock, and again in 1973 with Léon and Jean-Claude Chemarin, using machines powered by big-bore CB750 engines housed in Dresda frames. These results prompted Gerald Davison of Honda UK to commission a string of Dresda Honda CB750s to race in Britain in the 'Honda Style' colours in short-circuit, endurance and drag races. Dresda Honda motorcycles and frame kits are built today for race and road using SOHC and DOHC engines. Contact us for details.
